Neighborhood Watch Program

A neighborhood where residents are concerned about the well-being of each other is more resistant to criminal activity.  The Neighborhood Watch Program is a nationally recognized program that teches residents to become active participants in their own safety by becoming the "eyes and ears" of their local police department.

Members of an effective neighborhood Watch remain active even when there are no crime issues affecting their neighborhood.  Thus, this program requires that leaders be identified within each neighborhood that are willing to continually organize and direct the crime preventiion activities of their neighbors.  The police play a supporting role in this effort.

For more information on the Neighborhood Watch Program, or tips on how to start and organize one, visit National Neighborhood Watch.

If you have more questions about the program, or if you would like to start a program in your neighborhood, contact the McBee Police Department.
