Meetings

Preparing for and attending meetings is an important part of your job as an elected official.  This information outlines the procedures used by the Town in scheduling meetings.

In January of each year the council approves a calendar year meeting schedule for the new year.  Additional meetings may be scheduled and meetings may be canceled throughout the year as necessary.  By law, we are required to give notice at least 48 hours in advance of any meeting that we schedule that is not on the calendar approved by council in January.  However, our goal is to provide the public and the media with as much notice as possible of any public meetings.

Typically, special meetings are requested by consensus of the council and the public and media are notified of the date and time of the meeting.
